(maybe we need a Forum for software file conversion ??)

how do you get a 3d model from FormZ into autocad 2004 or VIZ 2005?

we have a Client who keeps sending us PDF of EPS files of a Theatre bldg

that i end up bringing into autocad (scaling up etc) and Then Tracing over

to get some approximate Elevations before trying to reverse-engineer the 3d bldg

back into cad and VIZ for rendering (when Then goes into a 2d PS collage)

**

There has got to be a more direct way to do This, i Think

The bldg keeps changing and it is way too Time consuming

to keep re-sketching the Elevations to modfiy the 3d mass modeling

any Ideas??

i know This kind of falls into The Cracks in between softwares

so maybe There could be a SOFTWARE CONVERSION FORUM

for Ideas etc Things like This

hey it is only Momday am and i havent had coffee yet

so This is my one big Idea for the entire week

(since i am NOT familiar with FormZ i am asking here in the VIZ area)

Thanks

Randy

Hi,

As a long time FormZ user I can say that one of its strengths is that it can read and write almost any file format. I often use 3ds or dwg as required by the nature of the work. See below for a list of formats FormZ can use and take your pick.

Good Luck,

can you give me a "brief" list of the "exact" commands to "saveas" to Autocad

??

i am sure This is fairly straight forward but i got to send along Instructions

to an architectural Principal who does not do This on a day-to-day basis

Thanks for your patience Time and consideration
