lupususlupus
Hi guys, I'm having problems with turning on the caustics. Could you take a look at the picture: This is a render of simple example scene showing the problem. The surface has noise reflection map on it. There are two large vray lights on the scene. The left render is with GI on and caustics off and this is the result I'm willing to get, with reflections maps working. The render on the right is after switching the caustics on (it looks the same as switching GI off byt I'm sure I'm not changing anything but caustics). I need caustics on the scene I'm working on but it doesn't work as supposed. Any ideas what the problem might be?
CliveG
Dunno what the problem is, but Rick Eloy (I think) had a great workaround for genuine caustics, without actually enabling caustics. Something to do with standard or photometric lights and residual photons from memory. Have a look here http://forums.cgarchitect.com/67263-caustics-v-ray-simple-tutorial.html Hope this helps
