skala67
I have been part of the CGArchitect community for quite some time, but was not sure of the proper etiquette regarding my dilemna. I have an image that needs a certain operation performed through a certain software. I have used a trial version and it works great, but can not justify to the company that we need to buy the working version, since this is a one time occurence. So my question is.... what is the proper etiquette of asking if someone has this certain software that i could send a file to, to perform this certain operation. I had to keep this somewhat cryptic so as to not cross any inappropriate boundaries. Thanks for understanding. Cheers,
Scott Schroeder
If you have to keep it cryptic and go through back channels, then don't do it.
Francisco Penaloza
Well reading only the top part I imagine that you can just post asking the need of some software specialist with equipment, or hire a freelancer to do some task. Now your company seems pretty decent so I am guessing you are not trying to do anything inappropriate, now there is always a free version for each software, a free legal way to do things, Photoshop = GIMP or very low budget Paint shop pro, or rent adobe suit for a month at a very low price; 3dMax= Blender, Phremiere = Imovie and so on of course there is limitations but a good crafted artist can develop without problems. if it is dark and secret you should not post it in a open to public forum
Tommy L
Eh? Do9esnt seem like youre breaking any rules. If you used a trial version to try something out and it worked, then yes, go ahead and ask for a freelancer on these boards to do the task. As you've done it once and can tell the person who owns the software exactly what you want I cant see it costing very much. So what do you need?
