panostosias
Hello. So I want to build a PC and people have been telling me that the GTX 680 performs better in rendering than the Radeon 7970 does. I play a lot of games, but there's not much to compare in gaming between these two. The programs I use are Adobe After Effects, Photoshop (3dsMax and 4D Cinema as well but I've only watched tutorials and I believe I'm starting to get into it not sure if I start 3d modeling though.) Having said that, would it be worth it to invest on the GTX 680? I'm leaning to the Radeon at this point of time but I'm still quite unsure. Krisztian Gulyas
What you need is a good CPU and lots of RAM. GPU doesn't play a role in rendering... well it does if you use VRay RT or something similar, but otherwise buy a better CPU and lots of RAM. GPU is only used for viewport acceleration, but if you're a beginner, I don't think you need a GPU that good (maybe for games). I would suggest to buy an nvidia card though. erkutacar
thats incorrect information, adobe programs do use cuda for rendering and it renders way faster than cpu only rendering.
