dsp_418
Sometimes I can get it working fairly easily, but still other times I struggle with this and I thought I'd get the basic concept. Here's what I do: basic studio geo, 3 to 5 lights but why I'm getting the shadow on the curved corner whereas it should be smooth? screen grabs attached. Any hints? P.S. I've followed several tutorial on the topics, but still now and then can't get this done from my own. Edited March 27, 2013 by dsp_418
Francisco Penaloza
straight answer for your question is NO why everybody is so obsess with a one click solution, MC Donald's generation? it all depend of the object that you are displaying and the light positions, and intensities, from your screen shots, you have a big area light outside of your stage, you should not do that, you are generating shadows where that big area light cut over your ceiling. as matter of fact you don't need ceiling at all, set your environment color depending of the style you want to get, do not use a ceiling and you need some light for your object and some light to wash the shadows on the floor and back wall. Now if you want a easy fix,a dome light with an HDR studio image, they work pretty good. Edited March 27, 2013 by fco3d
Tommy L
May also be AO setting enabled in your GI. And turn off the vignette. Thats something to do in post, if at all.
dsp_418
Thanks for the replies. Francisco, believe me no McDonald's fan here I just thought I was slow to get this done (I always think I am). Adding an hdri and fixing the studio geo helped already. Thanks.
