Importing .dwg files into 3ds max 4.0?

Hi there,

 

I am hoping someone can help me out. I need to import some .dwg files into 3ds max to make a 3d walkthrough of a new development. However when i tried to import a file, when it reached 100% there was nothing there??? presume i am doing something wrong? or not doing something i should? can anyone offer any suggestions please?

sounds to me you are trying to open acad 2005 or similar on which i think would not work

ditto arch desktop

go back and if you have acad save to a r 14 or dxf them

if not get the source to do that

i have had similar problems in the past with no show imports

after 100% done, press "H" to see if there is actually nothing in the object list. most probably you'll see them all listed. just zoom extent.

 

if you still do not see anything, may be some incomatabile acad version!

post full version details etc.
