amer abidi
My new HP Z820 workstation has proven quite problematic when it comes to it's nVidia video drivers. The video driver constantly restarts whatever applications are open, and gives a "video driver has stopped working and has restarted successfully" message. I have downloaded and tried several driver versions, namely: 276.28, 305.29, 311.15 and all give the same crashing performance. I am now currently on ver 311.35 released a couple of days ago from nVidea and though more stable than the previous versions, has crashed again once this morning (followed by a blue screen!); So was wondering if anyone else has the same setup rigged and if they're facing the same problem? Also, looking into the subject I stumbled upon nVidea's Maximus configuration for the Tesla-Quadro setup, I have downloaded the config setup file and have it setup, but would like more insight on the configuration if anyone has more in-depth info please. EDIT: Using windows 7 64-bit Cheers. Amer Edited April 3, 2013 by amer abidi Details added
dhammikaherath
I’m using Z800 at my office. So far I didn’t have any problem with my machine. But when Graphic card overloaded it goes blank and after few seconds comes back and says driver stopped working and successfully recovered. Earlier, I also updated for the latest version. Then I downgraded for the 3Ds Max performance driver. Try this link to find out the partner certified drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-certified-drivers.html#partner_id=11&page=appSelected
Stephen Thomas
I have the Z800 too with Quadro/Tesla cards running maximus. Had an issue getting Vray RT to work properly until I rolled back the driver to this version. Try installing and see if it helps: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/quadro-tesla-win7-winvista-64bit-301.42-whql-driver-uk.html
amer abidi
After much deliberation and trial-and-error, I've found nVidia's 311.35 Qudro/Tesla driver to be the most stable. 3 days crash free optimum performance so far. Still looking for more ways on maximizing performance and utilizing both cards together. Thanks for your input guys...
Devin Johnston
I was having similar problems several years ago when I got my Quadro 6000, it was a mess to be sure. I tried for months with Nvidia to find the right configuration that would work with 3d Studio and Adobe Premiere/After Effects with no good results. In the end I just had to live with the problems and eventually they came out with a driver that fixed most of my problems but it took about two years. My advice to anyone thinking of getting a high end card is to make sure your software fully supports the card before buying it and even then beware because problems still occur.
