schmuhhh
Hello guys, this is propably a beginner question... but anyway: How could I avoid texture repetition if I have not one big object (then I would do it with a mix texture for example) but if I have several objects like wooden collumns? I dont want to make a new material for each collumn... I would be really thankful if someone could help me Phil
Chris MacDonald
UVW map each one, and move the map around, mirror it, etc.
Corey Beaulieu
You could also just throw a Material by Element Modifier on it as a single object and use the VrayMultiTex on it. This way you can just copythe map a few times and alter their offsets. Both are effective, but the material method allows you to further differentiate the columns by altering the color with other maps (Color Correction or Composite additional grunge textures). beestee
SoulburnScripts has a utility called "RandomTransform" that can do the random movement of the UVW maps for you. Another utility in that pack is "ModifierUtilities" that can remove any UVW Map modifiers currently on those objects and then also add the individual uninstanced UVW Map modifiers to your objects.
