I cant use the keyboard

I just opened Max today and now I can't use it. I have no idea what could cause it. I cant use the keyboard to type in numbers or names there (but it works somewhere in Max, but not there). If I press something it doesn't do anything.

Do you know a solution to this?

Yes, and somewhere in max too, but in the marked places i cant. I cant even delete the numbers.

What happens if you restart max? I'll get it every so often where I can't use half the keys in max or only type in numbers 1,4,7. I don't know if it is a max bug or if I have a control/alt/enter key sticking. It's very rare, but I've gotten it before.

Nothing. I mean it's all the same. I've restarted max a few times and my pc too, but I still cant use the keyboard in those places i marked (it works fine in other applications or while browsing on the internet).

I think I'll need to reinstall Max... I hope that's gonna solve the problem.

I got some photos from a photographer a few days ago, a few minutes ago I installed Norton and it found some viruses in the folder where the images were.

Norton fixed it and Max is working fine now, though I wonder why would someone create a virus that affects Max!?

I've got that problem now too. I have not tested the virusscanner yet but i have found a temporary solution:

Go to: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\[your version]\enu and delete 3dsmax.ini.

It works, but i have to delete it every time i startup Max.

Thanks for the tip, but maybe you should too try installing the trial version of Norton and test it/run a full scan.
