Michael J. Brown
I am trying to render to a cloud-based render farm whose automatic file checking interface is halting me from submitting my job because "Relative texture paths are not allowed". What is a "relative" texture path and how do I make them all absolute? Nothing I've tried so far to re-path these has worked. Most baffling is the fact that none of these maps gave me problems when submitting to the renderfarm two weeks ago. And no new maps have been added. The only thing I did different was opening this file on a different machine (here in the office) to try and render an alternate view, then bringing it back to my primary machine to finish working on. All these "relative" paths just appeared out of the blue.
erickdt
I think the issue you might be having relates to how the user preferences are set on the one "new machine" you've been using as compared to the one that you had initially submitted the job from. I preferences under files there is a check box for "convert local file paths to relative". If that's checked that might be your problem. You could also go into asset tracking and reset the paths to not be relative manually. Good luck! E
Michael J. Brown
Thanks, Eric. I actually just broke down and did the Asset Tracking fix a short while ago. I should be Disco now. We'll see next time I go to submit it to render. I've got some other changes to make to the model first...
