erigeo
Hello all, I'm having a problem when locating the sky portal in my model! When I'm trying calculate the DF, it gives me 0. However, without the sky portal I have normal numbers. I put the sky portal without any glass for the window. Why do I have 0?? Also, if I want to put glass, what kind of glass should I put in order not to have any problem in the calculation of DF?Because again, when I put clear glass as a material I had 0 in the calculation! John Dollus
calculating daylight factors isn't as cut and dried as selecting a preset glass material. http://www.pfbreton.com/2009/11/lbnloptics5to3dsmax/ Avoid using sky portals (from an earlier thread): Q: What's the deal with sky portals? Does using them invalidate results? They sure help that outside light get inside. A: We have not validated how accurate they are photometric measurement wise I don't trust Max as an analytical tool any longer. It's become too focused on pretty images and less on verifiable data. I'd suggest you use something along the lines of AGI to verify your calcs
