paulr
Hi Just looking at how much more popular the 3dsmax forum is than say the maya forum on these forums. Wondering why that is? I come from a 3ds/3dsmax background although the last 10 years i`ve used Maya due to work (in games), so I`ve lost touch with 3dsmax over the years but still have a fond place for it in my heart and wondering if its something I should take a look at again now I`m moving more into architectural work. Hopefully you can share some unbiased views about why max is more popular. Thanks
easy3dsource
Maya excels when it comes to organic modeling with nurbs or subdivided surfaces, but 3dsmax's polygon tools are simple and streamlined, which is more suitable for the arch-viz industry (most buildings are fairly rectilinear). It's a matter of picking the right tool for the job, and for architecture, 3dsmax makes more sense.
Scott Schroeder
AutoCAD integration and DWG support. That's it in a nutshell.
Crazy Homeless Guy
I am sure in someways Viz had something to do with it but truth be told, ....Max is a poor modeling tool for architecture.
