danblanshard
Hi, I'm new to this site and relatively new to architectural modelling, so apologies if I ask anything that sounds stupid! I'm using C4D v12 with AR, but I imagine my query can cross platforms. My client has asked me to create 10 UK new-build CGIs for marketing purposes. I did three for them a few weeks ago (which was a massive learning curve) and I want to improve on my window reflections. I currently have a bog standard transparent, reflective glass which sits over a flat curtain UV, foreground trees, an HDRI sky and a CGI render behind the camera to try and create a fake reflection. Upstairs normally looks pretty good with blue sky and clouds, but downstairs tends to look flat and dreary. Is there a best practice for this kind of thing? I tend to make it up as I go along! Thanks in advance.
neil poppleton
Can you upload an example of one completed for comments ?
Janwalli
picture would help indeed ;-) One thing you should take into account - glass is rarely 100% flat. You can see this very well on skyscrapers, the reflection is not "perfect" and the same is true on smaller scale buildings too. So a really slight bump might help a bit.
