danb4026
The architect provided this image as a reference. I have to create an area rug exactly as this with the border. I have been trying to use vray fur (no problem with the main rug) but I cannot get the fur to take on the qualities of this border. I tried using a bump map in the "length" map slot of the fur, but I am not getting the results I need. Does anyone have any advice as to the best way to achieve this? Francisco Penaloza
have you tried to use the distant text shader? I think creating a black and white image with that pattern to guide the displ or fur will do the trick.
danb4026
I have never used the distant tex shader for anything before. I will take a look at it and see what it does. Thx

Why don't you just make it in photoshop and also a black and white version for the bump? Easy....
danb4026
That's actually what I did, but I was just trying to figure out a way of using fur or displacement because of the proximity of the camera to the rug.
