ctasker
Hi Is there a way to find the material that references a given map. I thought you would be able to do it in asset tracker but i can't find the option if it is in there. Basically I am working on an inherited revit file that has been imported into max. Countless different materials in the scene and one of them uses a map with an unusual character that the render farm doesn't know how to handle. I can't seem to find the material that is using this map so I can't get rid of it. Seems like it should be an easy thing to do but I can't seem to find it! ctasker
Ok, found it the slow way, in case anyone else runs into the same problem. Using Max 2013 btw. I couldn't find the option/area where the material swatches list the map files assigned to them underneath. I right clicked on the scene materials title/bar in the material/map browser and found the option to show subtree and went down item by item until I found the problematic map. Would be much easier if they had the info in the asset tracking box though.
cg_Butler
I use this script. It does the job really well. Sort the list by clicking on the header and if you double click on the map it loads it in to the material editor.
Stephen Thomas
Under Utilities tab, under "More..." open Bitmap/Photometric paths. Select the bitmap and click the info button. This will show you all the objects referencing that map.
