Tom Bussey
I am having a real problem trying to use the conform tool to get the Editable poly in this file to take the shape of the plane below it. I select the poly, select the conform tool from compound objects and then pick the plane as the Wrap-to object. It has a think, but takes no effect. If anyone can figure it out I'd be very appreciative as I've been stuck on this all evening. here's the file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/42sbb3jbrvfcf3g/problem.max
Jose Negrete
how did you generate the tiles?
Tom Bussey
They were drawn up with rectangles, turned to editable spline, re-sized and tiled.
Jose Negrete
Hey, Got it to work by generating a new terrain. What I did was select all under edge selection mode and generate spline from selection (line128)... Then generate terrain from those splines. Then conform your tiles to the new terrain. Tom Bussey
select all under edge selection mode and generate spline from selection (line128)... Then generate terrain from those splines. Sorry, can you elaborate on this a bit? I'm a real amateur and not really sure what you've done here! Thanks.
Tom Bussey
Ok, don't worry, I've got it to work by just drawin a new terrain from scratch. That previous one was only arbitary and was overly complicated anyway.
Jose Negrete
Hey, What I did was select the existing terrain object and selected all its edges in sub object edge selection mode. I then generated a new spline from the edge selection. Then I created a new terrain from the spline object. Terrain tool is under the compound objects and works with splines.
