atonionovotny
Hello everyone, I started using Vray for Rhino 2 months ago. In exterior scenes, I dont really have any trouble, but interior is a huge problem for me. I'm not sure how to set visopt properly, although I've tried several int. visopts from experienced users. I'm rendering with this computer: Intel Core i7 3632QM 2,2 GHz RAM 2x 4 GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT645M 2 GB And I need your advice on settings of this scene: Scene is iluminated by Vray sun and Vray rectangular light over the stairs. And my settings are: http://s14.postimg.org/cnxtmpwnl/1_Global_system.png http://s14.postimg.org/wfzzm087l/2_camera.png http://s14.postimg.org/83bn7scy9/3_env_aa_mc_color_channels.png http://s14.postimg.org/ev22an1xt/4_output_GI.png http://s14.postimg.org/c9whn4ck1/5_IR_GI_caustics.png http://s14.postimg.org/vp79g85u9/6_displac_rte.png I think these settings are pretty low and even then 2048x1013 takes 6 hours to render (although 1280x633 takes about 5 minutes only!). I need better output (with ambient occlusion on, with more GI bounces.. and 6000x3000. That would be almost impossible to render. So, can anyone tell me, where my problem is and witch setting should I change?
notamondayfan
Your dynamic memory is only 400mb, change this to 6000, that should speed things up as that will be a bottle-neck. Also look at different image samplers, I use DMC. And for interiors I would generally use Light Cache, Irradiance Map, not Brute force. atonionovotny
Thanks a lot Dean, it helped! 2048x1013 now takes 22 minutes, thats a significant improvement. I think it's much better, now i have to figure out what to do with rect. light, which is kind of blurry. I really appreciate your help.
