Can anybody tell me in which softwere they are mostly made? and what is the main principes in making them? What are the standards you have to control while making them? The best example which comes in my mind now is turbosquid.com if somebody can help me with this question i will be very thankfull thanks in advance Nodar
abhaysingh
I believe 3ds max, maya & cinema4d are mostly used in such cases.Out of these three, 3ds max is extensively used for architectural works & in gaming as well. Some companies convert your models in different formats for you to sell online on their website otherwise you need to convert in these 3d programs mentioned(export command is used to convert a model in various formats). If one is going to sell a model, you need to decide first whether it is going to be high polygon model or low polygon because all buyer are from different backgrounds. Some are going to use them in gaming/realtime viz so they will need low poly models with their UVs open & stiched together, some will need high poly model for close up shot so they look for details, some will not bother bout the minute details because they will use them as fillers, some will look for good textured ready to use models. If you check there are plenty of categories to buy from. In some cases you need to be logical like nobody will buy iphone2 but they look for iphone 5(latest model).A person who is buying models for gaming won't mind buying simple models in bulk as they always find themseves short of time but I believe the one who is going to use them in arch. viz will look for new designs & something which is hard to model & will take time. As for standards, these are main points which you should take care of before you start modelling or you can check any model & look for their specification/info 1)file formats & 3d programs with which the your model is compatible, 2)polygon counts, 3)textured or not. 4)UV mapped ? 5)Unwrapped & stiched ? 6)Some nice high quality & beautifully lit rendered previews are must to sell a model or atleast show the model from all sides.A wireframe preview will also help as it will show whether mesh is clean or messed up. 7)light setup & shaders included or not (in the native 3d program version ) 8)One should also write some more info about the model like below. "The model has real measurements. Render is done with integrated 3ds max mental ray engine. Objects are easily editable. Only in the 3dsMax file, lighting and environment are included. I also included a non-illuminated 3DsMax version with standard materials,(if you do not use mental ray)All shelf products are UW unwrapped. Real world scale." 9)you can also write brand name if the furniture is designed by one to increase your chances. 10)Never forget to read guidelines of website where you're going to sell them. Hope this will help you. Abhay.

In terms of making the furniture, accuracy is very important. Make sure you make everything to a real world scale. There's plenty of furniture modelling tutorials out there.
