vanapapi
Whenever I insert background to a viewport with windows explorer, it looks normal, but when I render, I get extremely zoomed in background image. What could be the cause of that? (I tried to fix it by resetting all the settings to default - deleted the 3dsmax.ini file. Didn't work) Images illustrating the problem are included in the attachments. Edited June 12, 2013 by vanapapi
dhammikaherath
Apply the same image to your environment background. Drag and drop it to a material slot as an instance. Then you can adjust it through material editor easily. Make viewport background to use the environment image.
deC9r
i think you checked the "affect backround" , turn it off, or get and alpha channel and reapply the brackround in psd

John Dollus
in the material editor, make sure you have screen mapping selected instead of spherical or cylindrical and that your tiling is set to 1 and 1.
