roangutierrez
Hi, im trying to render my model (please kindly see image attachment), and as soon as "building light cache" reach after several minutes, 3ds max suddenly closes.. I've already made my vray settings into the lowest possible that can fit my model.. still the same thing happens.. Is my model that heavy already? Im not using any displacement modifiers, HDRI.. My materials are just plain vray dirtmaps/bitmaps.. What do you think has caused the problem? Is it because of RAM? My laptop only has 3gb ram installed.. win7.. I know thats very unfortunate of me.. I've rendered several interiors already and it did fine, this is my first exterior render.. and its not working well.. Please do help me.. PLEASE. himanshuchoudhary
I have encountered the similar problems if i have a 'normal' map on any texture in my multiscatter elements. Not sure if you are using any multiscatter though.
thiyagu arjunan
Have u used any displacements for grass or roof mat? try to render without displacement and check the dynamic memory limit on render settings..
notamondayfan
when you're rendering the image, open up the task manager, and watch your RAM usage. Does it use all 3 gb of RAM? Also are you using windows 32 or 64 bit? If it's not a RAM issue, it might be a corrupt part of the file. If you delete all the geometry in the scene will it render? himanshuchoudhary
Yeah, follow Dean's advice of removing all geometry and trying to render. Good suggestion
