Chris MacDonald
Pro's: - Modelling looks good - Texturing and shaders appear to be decent. Cons: - Lighting is flat and boring. All the shadows are very sharp/harsh. - Camera angle/image composition is really bad, makes the room feel a lot smaller than it probably is. himanshuchoudhary
Pro's: - Modelling looks good - Texturing and shaders appear to be decent. True. Could use more reflections on certain elements. Every object has to reflect something in real life.
Corey Beaulieu
It definitely needs more punch from a stronger sense of lighting, but the first thing that I noticed was how low the ceiling is. I also would ask why am i looking at this? There doesn't seem to be a reason to look at the kitchen from this point of view. When you move the camera as Chris suggested consider framing a reason to view ( light though a window, fine materials, large space, etc...) Scott Schroeder
You've got some real life mistakes: You are going to have some water damage on your walls missing a back splash. 2 faucets on a sink? Seems rather overkill don't you think? Your upper cabinets wouldn't go all the way to the ceiling with the door. There is always a trim piece above the actual door. Part of getting a good render is to actually mimic real world building conditions. All too often we focus on getting lighting/materials, etc right that you miss out on the fact that your kitchen would never exist like that in the real world. I also personally hate the 8 foot tall human look from the camera perspective, either that or your lights are hanging way too low.
notamondayfan
There are many things technically wrong with the image. You need to check your kitchen dimensions and details. The oven and base units look too tall, what height is your worktop at? The wall units need cornice and pelmet, and not to touch the ceiling. The handles on the wall units are too high, and would be the reverse of your base unit handles. The worktop should over hang the doors (island area). What is the aim for the image? mariosantana
this is an exercise for myself to learn vray. i wanted to quickly to finish the model and work with vray i didn't bother to look at my own kitchen. the wall cabinets in my home do touch something on top but i don't think it is the ceiling (ventilation/grease ducks ?). base cabinets including the counter, toe kick are 34'' tall. now that i check the floor to ceiling height is only 6'-8". i saw this arrengement on a magazine and sort of copy where the sink, stove and fridge are. the top handles should be horizontal ? Ill post an updated version once i fix everything else.

himanshuchoudhary
can you be more specific ? im not sure what i could make more reflective. The cabinets and the ceiling look really flat to me, other than the comments pointed out by all other people. I feel bump maps are missing from most of the materials? Correct me if i am wrong.. M V
This is the best advice I can give. Go here http://www.houzz.com/kitchen and study the images you love. Your rendering should mimic real life and great photography principles. The rest is technical V-Ray stuff that will take years to learn. Just keep pushing yourself.
