I need some critiques on my piece that I am rendering out. I am using vray and Maya. Any tips or critiques would be greatly appreciated! I am also wondering what some great standard settings for vray are for production quality final renders. Thanks a lot!
Krisztian Gulyas
There are no standards for quality render. You get a high quality render by adjusting the settings to every scene differently. Global Illumination needs to be turned on though to get nice lighting, I think thats turned off by default (I'm not sure though). First you need to know what controls what, so you can change the numbers and know what will change after the render.
Guest srikanthk
Looks nice but like Krisztian Gulyas said...add GI and render again...it will add a lot more fill light and the render will be more beautiful..
spencerfitch
Hey thanks guys. GI is on of course. I'll add an updated picture where I have taken care of the aliasing issues.
Francisco Penaloza
You need to first adjust your exposure, with all those lights in your scene still very dark, you may need to reduce the intensity of some lights to adjust your exposure, some of them are already burning everything around, one you have your exposure and lighting controlled, then we will able to see the materials and adjust the compositions. There is not magic numbers in VRay or any other package but there is basic rules that can help you. but first things first, fix the lighting and keep posting your updates use the same title of your post as google search and see all those images and use them as reference. http://www.streetofdreams.com/images/vancouverE.JPG http://www.seasidepropertiesgroup.com/upload/estates_slideshow/slideshow_19_93_orig.jpg Edited June 17, 2013 by fco3d
spencerfitch
Hey thanks for the ideas and critiques guys! I have a cleaned up render and some things that I am trying to do. I would like to add a Moon fill light coming through and casting shadows from the window frames that are behind the camera. Im not quite sure on how I am going to achieve this so I have a lot to play around with. Do you guys have any suggestions for this idea? I have attached two images. The first is the updated cleaned render with a bit of a blue fill light coming into the room but its not looking the way I want it to. Im looking for the the moon to project the type of shadows that are in the sunlight room.
