smoke3dstudio
I just happened to come across an english website of Society of architecture illustration and read a recent news letter. I thhought this might be useful for us. I know roughly they were discussing about handcraft illustration comparing with CG , and has mentioned about CGarchitect as well, but the english in the news letter seems to be difficult for me to understand even I've read it 3rd time. Any opinion about what they were discussing? http://www.sai.org.uk/Resources/SAI%20Winter%2003.PDF

Iain Denby
I happen to be a Memeber and Council member of the SAI. I, along with 12 others vote on whether applicants work is good enough to give them membership. We often have discussions regarding CG work. Many applications now are from people working in this field, and much of it is poor, created by people with no artistic flair and understanding whatsoever. Some council members don't work in this field and find it hard to be constructive with comments to those unsuccessful applicants who produce 'out of the box' renders. I directed these council members to smoke3dstudios's work as fine examples of interior digital images produced with skill and artistic flair above what the software produces out of the box. Ernest Burden III
I happen to be a Memeber and Council member of the SAI.Does that mean you will be going to Rhode Island, USA, next fall for the 'convention'? I will be there. I was a member for the groups first 10 years. I haven't been since, though I may be again someday.

jucaro
To my understanding, the author was just ranting about how recent advancements in 3D softwares was taking all the artistry in creating illustrations, but after seeing some of the works (particularly in CGArchitect.com) he found out that there is still art in 3D CG and not just simple pressing of buttons. Regarding your work they posted, at first he thought you were just talking nonsense, but later on was glad that you are living in Bangkok
