scostumatu
Hi all Was wondering if anyone could help me out here... ive googled around and found a couple of tuts regarding a waterwall but theyre not as realistic as I want them to be... below are a couple google images of what im referring to - does anyone have any pointers on how i could achieve this? either this subtle water wall: http://www.davidharber.com/images/water/wall.jpg or this more intense water wall: http://www.decorfortheoutdoors.com/image/content/wall_fountains/wall-water-fountain-large.jpg ( any help would be much appreciated. Francisco Penaloza
The first sample can be done with a mix of noise maps as bump in a water/glass type of material. you can add some particles system at the bottom with a heavy motion blur on them to create the effect of water drop flying out. The second sample also could be a mix of noise as bump and particle system, you can put a high speed on the particle system so it create a heavy motion blur on them. Ernest Burden III
I've done a waterwall in an animation and that's how I did it -- a bump map made of animated noise with a motion speed downward. I skipped the particle bottom, as there was no time or budget to get that fancy. The wall looked good, especially with sound.
