Vray or IES lighting

Hi guys. I've been using Vray for about a month now, and slowly getting to grips with it. However I'm just wondering what the general consensus was when it come to Vray or IES lighting for interiors.

Most tutorials I've gone through use Vray but a few have introduced me to IES. I've found tho that using IES A: slows down my renders and B: takes longer to tweak to get a good result. I was just wondering what the professionals used on a daily basis. Is the speed of using Vray lights overall better than going for the IES option? Cheers in advance for the help.

The Vray version is just simplier to setup as there is literally nothing to tweak, which is just fine in "most" cases. One exception to this would be the softness of shadows, which you would have to correct then in the .ies file itself using text editor (it's though very simple operation).

I never use the regular IES photometric because it's the exact opposite, over-bloated settings with many potato values, and I don't have nerves nor time to deal with that.
