braddewald
I'm currently using Max 2013 and although I have a subscription, I wanted wait to upgrade to 2014. I was mainly waiting for Vray to add support for 2014 (which they have now). Has anybody been successfully using 2014 with Vray? Have you run into any problems? Does the upgrade seem worth it? Justin Hunt
All good so far, there is now a service pack for 2014 too. There was alot wrong with 2013 so the upgrade is worth it jhv
cg_Butler
I'll be making the switch after the current set of projects!
Stephen Thomas
2014 feels like a big improvement on 2013 to me. Might take a while for certain third party plugins to get updated, but otherwise I'd recommend it.
notamondayfan
I've been using 2014 and vray since 2014 was release and no complaints so far. All plugins work fine, and vray worked fine using the 2013 installer anyway. I think it's more stable than 2013, but Max has been very stable in my eyes now for quite a few releases. Plus you can back-save to 2011, so if you needed to go back for any reason you can. Dean
Scott Schroeder
I was able to get all of my scripts from 2013 moved over to 2014 with no issue, though by now most of the bigger scripts have 2014 versions such as the Soulburn script package. That was part of 2013's overhaul was to make going from version to version easier. So while it was a pain arse to go from 2012 to 2013, going from 2013 to 2014 was really smooth. Heck, even my UI came in without issue. So far it appears they have fixed the incredibly annoying zoom on extents when isolating and removing you from the camera view on isolate. They have also fixed the stupid nitrous viewport bug that would skew your background image so anytime you had to photomatch, you had to switch back to direct3d.
