steven martin
Studio/Institution: MeGenre: Commercial InteriorSoftware: 3ds maxDescription: I'm having a bit of a problem lighting the interior, half of the building looks fine, but as I go towards the centre of the room when there is less natural light I'm struggling. When I inroduce another light it screws up the lighting balance that I currently have that I am happy with. Any suggestions appreciated (attached file is a still from the animation) Edited July 4, 2013 by steven martin
Justin Hunt
Looks good to me, the only suggestion is maybe adding an over ride to the timber floor to lessen the colour bleed. Jhv
Janwalli
you placed a dark, massive object into the center of your picture. Now if people have a bad monitor calibration, then this area indeed will look like a black hole. Probably it woul help if you either can add "some" light, just to bring out the shape of the couch. Probably it even would be enough to adjust the material a bit.
harryhirsch
I agree with Jan....I would play with the sofa material...yellow-orange velvet...maybe that will do some good. Also that round ceiling (the inner part) could use some artificial lighting...best would be natural lighting but it is a multi storey building right? In comparison the pictures that show "window situations" are overly bright, since there is no sun shading people will probably have a hard time to see something on the computer screens...just my 2 cents
steven martin
Thanks for feeback, didnt think about changing the colour of the sofa, but I think blue may be the way to go. I'll also look to see if I can tone down the lights at the windows
heni30
I think you're stuck with a bad design. It seems crazy to have a central object and just put a ring of lights around it and not light the object itself. You "correct" rendering is not holy and you can do subtle things to it in Photoshop. These lights on the floor were added in 5 minutes - just feathered copies of the floor that you can totally control levels and opacity. I think the glow effect is just a tiny bit distracting.
