notamondayfan
Is anyone else having problems with Max 2014 where it just freezes and becomes un-responsive? It only just started doing it a week or so ago, and it's happening on several files and projects, so I'm confident it's not a file issue. Also the freezing happens at different times, and usually forcing a close and re-opening the file works fine. Just wondering if this is happening with anyone else, and if so, do you have any solutions? Dean
Bruce Hart
Yeah - I have had the same thing. I could be wrong but I seemed to occur after putting on the recent service pack.
notamondayfan
I'm on Design, and there isn't a service pack for that yet. Dean

Dean I think you'll find there is a service pack available for Max Design 2014: (I have it installed) http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?siteID=123112&id=2334435&linkID=10381720
Zdravko Barisic
SOMEtimes, freezing can be due to HPET enabled in BIOS, perhaps look at this link, please http://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-7-%7C-windows-vista-tutorials/5721-how-diagnose-fix-high-dpc-latency-issues-wpa-windows-windows-vista-7-8-a.html So, first try to TURN OFF HPET in your BIOS settings! Mokiloke
Im constantly getting freezes, closing files, turning off xrefs. I have to force crash the thing 5 times a day at least.
SgWRX
me too. thought it was strictly related to DBR rendering with MR, but if i reset a scene, bam, lock up, not responding. tons of things.
Vince Paske
I have SP2 installed and it will freeze if I hit close, then save when prompted. If I save first, then close it's fine. It also hangs when I try to merge something into a scene.
