ericchan
Hi all, Anyone here experienced weird render artifacts like I did? I'm getting bucket sized squares artifacts which looks like it doesn't render properly.. As you can see on the attached image, it mostly occurs on reflections.. both on mirror/glass surface but also concrete surface. Haven't done much on material settings but my render setting changed to following: Adaptive DMC : 1 - 50 AA : Area - 1.5 Irradiance Map : High with custom min/max -3/-5 Light Cache Subdiv : 2000 DMC Sampler: Noice Threshold : 0.005 Min. Samples : 10 Dynamic Memory Limit: 8000 Could possibly make it gone during post but it only gives me extra work and it annoys me whenever I see it. So please help and thank you in advance
cg_Butler
Are you using machines on a render farm to render your image or just your machine? If you are using a render farm, make sure all maps are pathed through to a location that all machines can see, otherwise they wont be able to get some maps and things like this occur. ericchan
No I'm rendering on my own machine, which makes it really weird. I've set my bucket size to 10 which is as big as the square you can see on the artifacts. Which also means some bucket while rendering failed to render properly (?) I guess.. Thou the problem sometimes occur, and goes away after re-render. Still, don't want to re-render even with region render because it sometimes failed to properly calculating the lights and gives me a darker shade :/
cg_Butler
Wierd! Can I ask why you reduced the bucket size? Does it do it if your bucket size is the default?
Zdravko Barisic
OT What is your render time? Your settings are overkill...
ericchan
Can't remember the render time.. half to an hour? something like that. I'm rendering high resolution image for presentation that's why. I reduced the bucket size for faster feedback during test render. So nobody knows eh?
Chris MacDonald
OT What is your render time? Your settings are overkill... Not really. They aren't a patch on the universal settings.
CliveG
I get this often.... Is there cg source multi-texture in the scene?
ericchan
I get this often.... Is there cg source multi-texture in the scene? Nope, all the textures are self-made.. nothing imported or some sorts.
