Running 2 3ds max apps at once

Is it possible to have 2 applications of 3ds max open at once so you can work on a different scene while waiting for a render to complete?

I use iray which uses 1 of my GPU,s (GTX 680 4gb) to render. My 2nd GPU (GTX 460 2gb) is for windows with allows me to navigate in 3ds Max. I have 2 scenes of 3ds Max open, one rendering unhindered and the other allows me to work on another project using the CPU.
