grahamturner
Hi, I have a client that is using Autodesk 3d Max design 2012 x64. Out of all their designers, there is one user who's PC is always reporting out of memory. I suspect that the models being created are too complex but I do not have the knowledge of the product to assess this. I was hoping someone could look over the config below and let me know if there is any relevant information. Thanks! The PC is a quad core i7 @ 3.4Ghz. 8GB RAM, 24GB page. Page file is stored on SSD for speed. Nvidia 660 GTX TI From the screenshot I have been provided of the last out of memory message :- V-Ray messages Tracing 360000 image samples for light cache in 4 passes Light cache contains 97719 samples Number of Raycasts : 48427636 Camera Rays : 12035125 Shadow Rays : 23355015 Gi Rays : 5891060 Reflection Rays : 6300671 Refraction Rays : 2426015 Unshaded Rays : 41039 Common Parameters width : 640 height : 480 Pixel aspect ratio : 1 image aspect ratio : 1.33333 Hidden geometry : hide Render atmosphere : Yes Use Adv Lighting : Yes Render to fields : no Force 2 sided : no Compute adv lighting : yes I am aware they were trying to render in a resolution of around 4000x2000 and were having issues but this looks like they are using 640x480 hence why assume there is a config setting that is making the scene unrealistically complex? Many thanks.
