Hi, i have this problem when saving to TIFF 16bit. I have "affect colors (adaptation only)" ticked on color mapping tab and 2.2 gamma. Also my max settings are 2.2 etc etc.

Supposingly like this get a 1.0 output and when i go to photoshop i can change to 2.2.

But no... My TIFF 16 bit is way darker than the beauty pass. The only workout to this is when i untick "affect colors", then my TIFF can be almost same as beauty pass when i change gamma 2.2 in photoshop. Almost... its not exactly same...

Only 32 bit format is same as beauty pass.. What am i missing here? how can fix the TIFF 16 bit to match perfectly the beauty pass? This is serious problem i cant composite 32 bit images.. Help me out plz, thank u

32 bits are kinda buggy in my photoshop i cant edit em.. when i say edit i mean i cant even unlock the bg layer or reorder em. Ya my output is 1.0 so i can add gamma in post. Any thoughts? thanx

You're missing the point, re-save the image as a tiff, and then use them. Or if you're using the RGB / beauty pass, then just convert the exr file to 8 or 16bit when it's open in photoshop. (image, mode tab)

"If your output is 1.0, then I believe you are adding Gamma in Max only to remove it (adjust it back really) on your save. If you want this to work then you will either need to render to 32-bit or setup your render settings for 1.0 output, which means you need to un-tick Affect colors."

Ya i have no problem with LWF, I have problem in photoshop

That is not working proper either.. When i convert it and then i add gamma it gives me different result.. Btw from all this research that i done so far, i read many reports about 16 bit tiffs. 8 bits is out of question, i would save jpeg if i wanted 8 bit and i wouldnt composite :p

So can u check and tell me, if u open a 32 bit in ps, can u reorder layers? can u add new layer? Cause i cant... ty

Ok, that was it! My photoshop had issues! I installed CC and everything is kinda fine. I have this question though. When i import 32 bit (i have installed also openexr) it automatically sets gamma to 2.2? cause it gives me same result as raw rendering with srgb on! thank u!
