philvanderloo
Can someone steer me in the right direction as to what to look for if my renders are very hazy. I'm in 2014 using mental ray renderer. There is more detail in the camera viewport than there is in my render. Thank You

notamondayfan
I'm not a Mental Ray user, but to me it looks like a gamma or a contrast issue. It's probably worth googling these to see if it brings up any solutions.
philvanderloo
Thanks Ismael and Dean. My scene was already set up with the mr sky just as it was illustrated in the video Ismael. Still rendering with no detail in the comp roof. Looks flat brown and you can barely make out the valleys. Dean I'll check that out. Thanks Again
philvanderloo
For anyone referring to this post, I figured out the haze issue but am still working on the lack of detail in the roofing. In mr Sky advanced parameters, I had the aerial perspective box checked and the (10%) haze distance set to 22'. I set this to zero and the haze was gone. Problem half solved. But still, after applying the autodesk dark brown composition shingles material to the roof, the roofing renders a flat, almost solid brown, with no shingle details. Ismael
Here is a nice reference, http://www.evermotion.org/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=102955&d=1375367686 Seems like the shingles are 3d? It makes a big difference. PS Just found Bobby Parker on CGArchitect: http://www.cgarchitect.com/members/view/bparker Edited August 7, 2013 by Ismael Added link
philvanderloo
I found this script download Ismael. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/avizstudio-tools-atiles Worked with it a little. Seems a little rough but I'm wondering what the pro ($$) version has to offer.
