shauncarollo
So I placed a plane on the exterior of my building model and mapped the photo so it was the correct perspective. I then excluded the plane from my Vray Sun, but it still renders black in the window cavity. What am I doing wrong? I basically want this photo to be mapped for context, but i want all the light to be let in. Is that possible? Scott Schroeder
Is the plane still set to cast shadows? If so, uncheck cast shadows in the object's property. Vray lights can sometimes be funny with include/exclude, at least in the past versions.

shauncarollo
Ok I found that, unchecked it, and it STILL doesn't work! this project needs to go out tomorrow and this is the last thing I need to figure out. What are my options to solve this guys?
Ismael
I think you have to use a VarayLight material on the plane along with the image. As in here mapped to a cylinder section: http://www.evermotion.org/tutorials/show/7900/making-interior-scene
Tommy L
vray light material, image in the slot, check 'adapt for exposure' or whatever it is and then render solo to check exposure is correct. Its probably overblown, then drop multiplier down from 1.0 to around .65, repeat until it looks correct. Turn everything else on and then render. ONly advantage this has over doing it in post is that your plane will affect reflections.
