Hello everyone,

I am new to 3ds max 2011 and I am having a problem snapping a vertex for moving the vertex in edit spline, when moving I do not get the vertex but I get the spline handle?

this did not happen before when I was using Max8, is there a setting for this or a solution because it is really slowing me down

thanks much

Hi Casey, thanks very much for responding, it did not work, I click on a vertex to move it, and it selects the spline handle and moves it as if it were te curve that I want to move, so it does not move the vertex, this used to be so easy in MAX 8, now it has become such a time consuming thing for me I am hating max11

Oh I see; sorry I misunderstood the issue. I played around with the snap settings, but could not replicate the problem. Which Snaps are you using? For example, I tend to only use 'Vertex' snap with a snap radius of 10; angle 5; percent 10, and have 'Use axis constraints' turned on.

Are you trying to click and drag an unselected vertex? Or does it happen even when the vertex is already selected?

With my setup, if I select a vertex on a spline, it gives me the Move gizmo. With snaps toggled on, if I grab the angle portion of the move gizmo (x + y in orthographic 'view' reference coordinate mode), the vertex snaps to my mouse pointer and I can then move/snap it where I want.

Not sure if this is what you are trying to achieve.

If the bezier curve handles are very short and you are zoomed out too far, I can see how you might end up grabbing the handles instead. How zoomed in are you when the problem occurs? Are the handles very very short, like almost right on top of the vertex? If so, maybe a much smaller snap radius would help.
