philvanderloo
I've tried every setting, every slider, at least 100 different adjustments and no matter what I do, this bottle that I have applied a clear glass material to, renders solid black. I know this is a rookie thing but I'm stumped. I tried different lighting as well. No matter what I do there is no change in the re-renders. marius e
Doesnt look like you have any lighting set up? Use physical exposure as well as mr arch materials rather than the material u using.
John Dollus
you seem a bit frustrated. Try this: 1. create model 2. create camera 3. add lights 4. apply material to the object 5. use camera viewport instead of perspective or orthographic viewport 5. render note: steps 2 through 4 are interchangeable Lastly, just use scanline renderer until you get some successful renderings out. Work your way up to mental ray/iray/. You really are jumping into the deep end without learning to swim first. Have you gone through the tutorials that ship and install with the software? They really are pretty good to start with and don't take much time.
philvanderloo
Thank You Marius and Bob. As I figured, the solution was right there in front of me- flip normals I did have lighting set up Marius and was using a mental ray material. It's all good now.
