Chris MacDonald
Splotchiness like that is caused by your GI. Either of these should work; 1) Enable "detail enhancement" on your irradiance map rollout. 2) Render using brute force as a primary GI, try using the Vray Universal Settings

Zdravko Barisic
For white cornice details, you should go for ADAPTIVE DMC, try it on 2/6 or 1/

CliveG
How about an AO pass for added definition of the cornice. It won't help with any of the dots or splotches, but may help show more of the detail.
bigbang
hi i did not get the meaning of AO pass . could u pls explain more for me . Tanx
Chris MacDonald
Try the universal settings and report back. If they don't work then it is a problem with your geometry.
CliveG
With regards to AO - it means Ambient Occlusion - there are a few different ways of achieving this depending on your render engine. But a search of old posts here should provide you with all of the information you may need for your render engine. This will only add a bit of definition to your cornice moulding, it won't cure your other problems, you'll need to refer to the other answers for that.... Hope this helps.
