TomD_Arch
Lets say I have an object or plan brought in on a .dwg. The angle is some rational number (23.76 degrees). I need to use a Helper Grid. I can get the grid snapped to a corner of my object and now I want to rotate the grid to align with the object. How do get the rotating grid to snap so it is in perfect alignment? Jose Negrete
use autogrid while placing the helper grid
TomD_Arch
Actually, I have found that with a little tinkering and becoming familiar with the ALIGN tool I am able to align the grid perfectly. Jose- Thank you for enlightening me to the autogrid, that will come in handy too!
Corey Beaulieu
You can also just draw a line between 2 points and then extrude it. Then draw a Box. Use the Normal Align tool to align one side of the box to the extruded line. You can now copy and paste the rotation transform onto your Helper Grid and know that it is exactly right. Jamie Cardoso
Hi Thomas, Please check the following post below. It should help solve the above mentioned problem (e.g. the relevant section of the tutorial starts from "Create and snap a grid helper perfectly to any given geometry and/or spline, in any angle": http://jamiecardoso-mentalray.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/essential-tips-tricks-for-vray-and.html Ta jamie Edited February 21, 2014 by Jamie Cardoso
