Devin Johnston
Is anyone aware of any problems using standard Max lights in an Vray animation? I've got a scene where I used standard lights and when I render out the animation 2/3 of the frames the lights don't cast any light at all. I'm using Brute force and LC, I don't think it's a GI problem.
Jason Matthews
I have had instances where I used Vray lights and then put in a few standard lights and it was like they were not working. Try increasing the value to like 10 times the value. Are you using a vray camera?
Scott Schroeder
The only thing I know of with standard lights that could cause the issue is your shadow type, but I don't think it would affect the light casting illumination. Is your light being just ever so slightly being blocked by an object?
Devin Johnston
No it's more like what Jason said, it's like they aren't there at all and only occasionally do some of them show up. I'm removing them from the scene because I don't have time to debug this but they certainly don't work.
gabmass
I fixed similar problem by making the geometries of scene included to the light properties (Exclude button) and set it to both for Shadows and Illumination. hope this fixes yours too
