Waffle structures 3DS Max

Hi guys is there anyway to make waffle structures in 3ds max. we've been told to use rhino+grasshopper to make them however due to work load i have no time to learn these. im hoping there is a way to do it with max either natively or through a plugin.

I'm not sure what you exactly mean by waffle structures, but you can do some parametric modeling in max by simply using the modifier stack.

 

and there is a grasshopper like plugin for max - but it's not free

thanks for the reply im looking t make something like this http://www.grasshopper3d.com/photo/waffle-structure?xg_source=activity is that possible in max using said plugin? works out to £15 for me because im a student so im willing to buy if its possible using the plugin
