shayanf
hi everyone ! I'm a beginner in 3ds max and I've recently finished basic interior / exterior modeling with online tutorials and massing around with it...now my question is as i already know that I will use Vray for rendering should i still put quite a time on learning 3ds max built in materials ,lights, cameras and rendering stuff..?? or should i start learning every thing in Vray..? I mean is Vray a replacement for these functions or an enhancement..?? sorry if my Q is silly
Corey Beaulieu
Vray is replaces materials, cameras, lights, and render settings... at it's core anyhow. You can use 3DS Max lights to render with in Vray and you can use Standard materials too, it's all up to you and how you want to use it. I would spend the time learning vray if that is how you will proceed. You will end up learning everything else along the way. Stick to tutorials though, that and project-by-project you will get better.
