MihaiGuigouas
Hello, I've just installed a new Gygabite GTX 650 onto my computer (I7, 12GB RAM, 3dsMax 2013, WinXP64 SP2) installed latest drivers from NVIDIA and it doesn't run any better than my very old NVIDIA Geforce 9400 and much worse than a laptop NVIDIA GT630M. Well, I wasn't expect to beat a professional Quadro but I wasn't expect to run as slow as a 6 years old card either or worse than an inferior card from the same generation. Can anybody help me? AJLynn
You're talking about 3DSMax viewport performance Did you try running Change Graphics Mode and seeing what mode you're in? In 2013 I think the default is Nitrous but regular Direct3D mode is probably going to best utilize your video card. (I haven't tried this myself because I skipped over 2012 and 2013 to 2014, which has different options.)
MihaiGuigouas
Well Andrew, your name will be in my prayers !!! You saved my day and my reputation in the office I changed the driver to Direct3D and now the card works like it should do. Previous in was OpenGL with the disastrous performance. AJLynn
You're welcome. They haven't updated OpenGL in Max in years - it's all in Direct3D now, which is nice for Geforce users.
