muzzy
Ramadan (Pronunciation: rom-a-don ) Here is a general explanation... Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims spend the daylight hours in a complete fast. Fasting means, Muslims can not eat or drink (including water) anything from sunrise to sundown.Fasting is required for adults and healthy muslims. During Ramadan, Muslims fast and spend extra time in devotion and prayer for a month. It is a time for inner reflection, devotion to God, and self-control. Muslims think of it as a kind of tune-up for their spiritual lives. A time to strengthen family and community ties. Fasting is a way of experiencing hunger and developing sympathy for the less fortunate, and learning to thankfulness and appreciation for all of God's bounties. Fasting is also beneficial to the health and provides a break in the cycle of rigid habits or overindulgence. Ramadan Mubarek
