andreeam
Hello! I would very much appreciate your help. I've got this bright edges every time I render even though I changed the settings so many times, nothing seems to help. My settings are: Image sampler:Adaptive DMC, min subdiv:1, max subdiv:8 AA filter: Mitchell- Netravali GI engine: Irradiance map & Light cache Vray sun, Hdri with Vray dome & vray light for lamp Thank you! christofferthulin
This is probably because of bad GI calculation. Try change the Irradiance settings. What's your settings there? As for future troubleshooting, render all elements and try to locate in which element the problem occurs. Then it's easier to find where the problem might come from. andreeam
These are the Irradiance settings.
christofferthulin
Allright, either try to increase the hsph samples and decrease the interp samples to give irradiance map a change to go more detail OR try and check the "check sample visibility" box. Or try both examples. Hopefully it will render better. If the irradiance map slows down because of this, try a custom setup in which you use min/max as -6/-3. That usually works fine fore me. Cheers! andreeam
So, I changed the settings like you said but it's the same result. The bright edges still appear in my scene
Ismael
For an interior scene as this, a Sun and HDRI with dome is an overkill. It is killing you the superbright outside samples leaking to th edarker interior. See example 4 here: http://help.chaosgroup.com/vray/help/200R1/examples_lightcache.htm#retrace If you have V-Ray 2 you can use the 'retrace'. Otherwise, knowing what the problem is..., remove the Sun/Dome try just a plane light at the window...
scostumatu
HDRI with vray sun/sky is overkill as mentioned. It also increases render times in my opinion. In my experience. the problem you have is due to poor GI. Ensure you follow the advice given above and do the following which almost always helps with light leaks. go to vray render setup under global switches, under raytracing change secondary raytracing value to 0.001 and then under light cache check 'retrace threshold' and enter the value of 1.0. good luck
calinlihet
Do your walls have thickness? it ws mentioned somewhere around here a while ago that sometimes vray does that kind of bugs if the walls are simple planes and/or not welded properly, try throwing an shell modifier on the walls, it might help.
