vaidasvileikis
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing trouble with glass appearance in renders since i added refraction layer to it. Without it glass seemed ok, but to achieve higher degree of reality i started using refraction and while at some scenes it doesn't influence the outcome too much, in this particular scene it distorts the view in a way that i can not imagine in reality. I added images both with and without refraction layer and although I've managed to decrease the distortion by lowering refraction ior all the down to 1, it is my understanding adding refraction, which is natural property of glass and using correct glass ior (1.5-1.55) should achieve more realistic results than that so maybe I'm missing a trick somewhere else? Ismael
Give glass a realistic thickness. http://forums.cgarchitect.com/73453-problem-vray.html
vaidasvileikis
My glass in the model is 10mm thick, so i'd say it's quite realistic..
Ismael
So far, your glass has a realistic thickness and still suck. You are making good progress keep it up. At this progress it'll be just a matter of days.
