tdarcy
Hi Guys, My office might be supplying me with a new Toshiba laptop, the specs are- Toshiba satellite pro M30-P-M 745 1.8 GHz Windows XP Pro 1512mb ram 60 gb hard drive Dvd super drive 15" wide screen nVID/802.11bg graphics card. Does anybody have one or know if it will handle Viz4 and V-ray without any problems. Cheers TD
STRAT
should handel it fine. you wont get blistering render times, but they'll be fairly handsome. and Tosh laptops are rock solid. i got one with 0 complaints btw, dont load windows XP service pack 2 on it if you intend to use Viz 4, the 2 aren't compatible and any patches/fixes dont exist. STRAT
it's most strange - http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7351 some seem to be able to run it and others not :/ i cant. and i've been told officially by autodesk and microsoft that you cant either, but obviously some configurations do. suck it and see i suppose. voltaire_ira
what i did is install windows xp sp2 first since my hdd crashed.reformatted my drive an installed windows xp sp1 then updated to sp2.that's the time i started installing any other softwares(max, viz, autocadd, etc).so far, everything is working.no bugs nor crashes. maybe it wont work if max/viz was installed first before sp2.maybe...
