notamondayfan
Hey all! I'm looking for some animation examples of interior scenes being contructed, de-constructed for transitions from one set to another, but I'm hitting a brick wall, perhaps I'm using the wrong terms to search with! Anyway, what I need is example videos / animations of interior spaces being constructed in cool ways. Kind of the same as when exterior animations of buildings being constructed in a none real way, ie floor plates falling from the sky and steel being thrust from all angles! Any links or places to look would be appreciated!! Thanks, Dean

John Dollus
are buildings 'building' themselves still the height of creativity in arch vsi? In a word: No.
TomD_Arch
Height of creativity or not, does anyone know of a good tutorial on actually animating these kinds of sequences? We've seen plenty of examples, I would be curious to learn about making them now.

Devin Johnston
Does anyone know if they are using a plugin to handle all the "building" animation? I can't imagine how long it would take trying to do that by manually key framing it.
notamondayfan
are buildings 'building' themselves still the height of creativity in arch vsi? Like with many "CG clichés" it really depends on A. the context, and B. how well it's pulled off. By the way thanks for all the links so far, just what I was after! Tommy L
are buildings 'building' themselves still the height of creativity in arch vsi? Good question. The unfolding building is a cliche to those of us who see them day in day out, but what else is there? Its difficult to sell a truly innovative conceptual piece to a client. Im looking forward to seeing what the next trend is as the building building itself has been around a while.
Chris MacDonald
I think Squint Opera are the ones to watch when it comes to innovative ways to make a building/scheme/idea on screen. The stuff they do always makes me sit back and go "why didn't I think of that, it's so easy!".
Devin Johnston
It's unique and whimsical, definitely worth the effort.
dande
I remember seeing a plug-in for this type of Animation but of course I can't find it now
dande
I remember now. It was a plugin called Grow from Digimation but it has disappeared. Obviously no longer developed
