stylez
Hi everyone. I'm having a problem with how my lighting is turning out, and i was wondering if anyone can help me with it. in the second picture I've numbered the 2 areas that I', having problems with... 1. the light seems to be leeking through causing weird splotches on the door frames and window frames. and 2. the light is over bright, but if I lower the settings my image becomes too dark. my main concern is the splotches, but if anyone knows how i could fix these problems I would be very greatful. thanks in advance. Poco
I cant really give you a solution to the first problem but maybe I can help you with the second. If I have that problem of over bright area's I usely do this. In the renderer goto VRay:G-Buffer/Color mapping and change the type in the drop down window from Linear multiply to HSV exponential. To further tweak the render you can change the dark and bright multiplier (I usally set my dark multiplier at 1.5). BTW The best thing with this "Color mapping" is that you dont have recalculate the irradiance maps but that you can use previously saved ones and so save alot of time. Hopes I make sense
stylez
thnx Poco, but i solved the second problem already by simply lowering the outside light and adding a Vray light inside with a high multiplier, it also helped with the first problem a bit, but my splotches are still slightly there
stylez
here's the image after a lil playin around... (streight Vray render, no PS)
kippu
do check the materials ( if there are any raytrace materials) and any materials with high specular values .... those are mainly the reasons for splotches ... keep hiding objects till the splotches goes ...then you know wats the reason

stylez
Perhaps you could share the solution. i think after a lil trial and error i came to the conclusion that my outside direct light had too high of a multiplier, and my inside Vray light wasn't high enough. what i did was i lowered the outside light to multiplier: 1.0 ... from like 15.0, then I raised my inside Vray light from multiplier: 30.0 or 40.0 to mult.: 250.0. it really made the difference - other than that nothing else was really changed. here's the final version slightly more hi-res...
