I need PHOTO REALISTIC Wall Tiles

Hello All.

Well, i need to make a photo real image. What is the best way to make the wall tiles?

I found:

1. CG Source Floor Generator and was going to try to use that for wall tiles. This is great because it greats actual geometry

2. Walls & Tiles this is a plug in that creates wall tiles through a texture. Probably not the most photo real option

Im guessing that to have the most realistic result, the tile should NOT be a map. And that I should take the time to tile the walls with actual geometry.

Any pro tips?

Thanks.

Displacement is your best friend sometimes. If you got the time, geometry is always very nice, but a well made and placed displacement map can be equally good and a great timesaver.

I would recommend you to try the floor generator. It's very nice but has it's limitations.

For better answers than mine, please describe what kind of wall/facade you are trying to achieve.

I would use Floor Generator but it seems that its best for PLANES and not walls. Walls have corners and window seals. I guess i can fake it and make a plane for each wall, including window seals but that seems like it could be problematic.

I just want to apply tiles similar to this on all the walls and window seals of a kitchen. But i want it to be photo real. The edges catching the light in the scene and creating shadows, etc.

Walls & Tiles (it should support disp as well) and MightyTiles. Both softwares are written by former partners who split (developers of BRICKS). All 3 do the same..just for different price and with different texture library sold with.

You don't want the tiles to be individual geometry pieces because no amount of polygons would simulate the micro detail that happens on edges, mortart, etc. You want displacement unless it's something very specific, but these plugins should do it suberbly enough for 99perc. of cases.
