savors
I'm new to 3ds Max and only have been using it for about half a year, and I know nearly nothing but how to create models and effects and render out stills. I recently discovered how to create cloth and am running into a lot of problems. I am simulating cloth by creating a plane, then giving it a cloth modifier and using the preset 'Wet Cloth.' I have it fall onto an extruding logo and cover the logo up. Here is where I find my first problem. The cloth stops falling about halfway though the text, no matter how high I move the text. The cloth covers the text, does not 'rip,' and folds correctly, but it just stops after it hits the top and sticks straight out to the sides. I am 100% sure that I have let it simulate every frame. I have some renders to illustrate this problem. My second problem is that the whole animation only lasts about 100 milliseconds, and I want it to be much longer. I have no idea how to slow down the cloth, or even make the duration of the timeline longer. My third and last problem is that, after I have finished fixing everything else, I have no idea how to render out the animation so I can bring it into Premiere and add music. I'd like the file to be .avi or something similar. I use Adobe After Effects a lot of the time, and with that program to render your animation out you have to add it to a render que and hit render. It's so much more simple and and I have no idea how to do this in 3ds. I have used After Effects for about a year and a half, so I do have some experience with animation, but I also understand how different these two programs are. I am also new to this website, so if I have done something wrong, please let me know. Thank you for reading my wall of text, and thank you for helping.
